About DeenWell
Making the Ahlul Bayt (as) heard around the world.
Who we are
DeenWell makes animated films and series about the Ahl al-Bayt (as) for people who have never heard their stories, and for people who grew up with them. We make our own films, and we share films by other people that carry the same message.
DeenWell is a brand of Oberas Co, a business registered in Ontario, Canada, founded by Kyan Oberas. Writers, reviewers and volunteers work with him on the films. You can join them.
How we source and depict
- Our stories come from Shia sources, and each film's sources are listed on its page.
- The Prophet (s), the Imams (as), the Prophets (as) and Lady Fatima (as) are never shown with a face. They are turned away, in silhouette, or covered in light.
- Allah (swt) is never depicted in any form.
- Sacred figures only say words recorded in the sources, translated and trimmed, never reworded. Where we stage a moment for the film, the film's page says so.
- Spotted something wrong? Send us a correction, and it goes to the top of the pile.
How we use AI
Our films are animated with AI tools, and we label them as AI-animated wherever we publish them. We check every script against the sources before it's filmed, and a sacred figure only says words recorded in those sources.
How the money is used
Gifts pay for making and spreading the films, including paying the artists, writers and voices who make them. Every gift that comes in is listed on our public ledger. Because Oberas Co is a business and not a registered charity, gifts aren't tax-deductible. The full details are in our giving terms.
